Creative Operations Director

Jayson helps oversee a wide range of company operations. With a Psychology degree, Life Coaching certification, and an American Sign Language certificate, he is a devoted husband and father who has a passion for superheroes, Disney, and cooking. His journey into the world of comics began with a fascination for Marvel's X-Men and the Fantastic Four, eventually expanding to include universes from Dark Horse and DC.

Jayson has a profound compassion for those who feel marginalized, hurting, or voiceless. This empathy likely stems from his own experiences of neurodivergence and mental health challenges, shaped by his time in foster care and his work in the disability non-profit field. He is passionate about how Courageous Comics can craft stories that highlight heroes embodying the powerful experiences of real people. Believing that storytelling is a powerful means of embracing truth, Jayson hopes his work with Courageous Comics will help others see themselves reflected in its characters, making them seen and understood.

Brittany has had an interest in all things "story" for as long as she can remember. Her love for comics began in 2008 through Marvel and blossomed into creating content for the fan community and collaborating with prominent creators of the time. As a woman of multifaceted skills and interests, her love for storytelling and experience with narrative design soon brought her on a collision course with Courageous Comics.

With a day job as a preschool teacher, she leverages her versatility to assist the team as the Communications Manager. Originating as a contracted editor for Courageous Comics, she now steps into that role permanently as well as developing strategies to help further the reach of the company's voice and mission. Understanding the impact of underrepresentation, she was drawn to the compelling mission of Courageous Comics. As a natural protector and defender, she is fueled by a desire to give those in the disability community a voice and a permanent place on the stage of entertainment.

Creative Operations Coordinator

Jason is the Creative Operations Coordinator at Courageous Comics, where he brings a lifelong love of storytelling and a deep appreciation for the comic book medium. His passion began in childhood when his dad introduced him to The Simpsons, The New Mutants, and Milestone’s Dakota-verse. Since then, he’s been inspired by how expansive and meaningful comics can be. With experience in scripted entertainment—spanning podcasts, television, and film—Jason brings a broad creative perspective to his work. Still, comics remain his true passion. He gravitates toward genre stories that center everyday people in extraordinary situations and draws inspiration from creators like Dwayne McDuffie, Charles Soule, and Luana Vecchio.

Jason believes comics can do more than showcase epic battles—they can reflect deeper truths about identity, relationships, and the systems we live in. He’s passionate about storytelling that sparks introspection and growth. At Courageous Comics, Jason is excited to help tell stories that use the super to spotlight the everyday hero—combining imagination, heart, and a commitment to pushing the medium forward.
